The Boat is a now removed naval unit that has functionally been replaced by the Raft. They were the weakest and most basic naval unit.
Prior to the Path of The Ocean update, moving a land unit onto a port would turn it into a Boat. The health of a Boat was determined by the unit it carries. Giants who moved onto ports also turned into Boats instead of Juggernauts.
A Boat could be upgraded into a Ship for five stars, and a Ship could be upgraded into a Battleship for 15 stars once Navigation was researched. (The total cost of upgrading a Boat into a Battleship was 20 stars.) Upgrading a naval unit did not heal it.
