Easter eggs are intentional hidden features. Easter eggs have been added over time in different updates.

Nature Bunny Unit

Bunny

A Nature Bunny

The Nature Bunny unit is an Easter egg that can be spawned in single-player by tapping an unoccupied tile in player-controlled territory ten times. The Nature Bunny has the crush skill, enabling it to destroy any building on tiles it moves onto.

Luxidoor Easter Egg

Luxidoor

The Luxidoor head

The Luxidoor Easter egg gives mobile players that do not own Luxidoor a 10% chance of having the tribe as an opponent in single-player games. This is officially an “apology” for Luxidoor being more expensive than other tribes. Note that players that do not own Luxidoor can force them to spawn by playing a 1v1 game and disabling tribes owned, except the tribe the player is playing as.

In the Steam version, this Easter egg is extended to all unowned tribes since the Steam version includes all regular tribes (such as Luxidoor).

Mixed Tribes Easter Egg

The Instagram post announcing the Mixed Tribes Easter egg

The Mixed Tribes Easter egg allows players to combine two tribes with three stars each in the tribe selection screen. This is done on mobile by tapping and holding the icons for both tribes or on Steam by holding the alt key, clicking one tribe's icon, then holding the other tribe's icon (while still holding the alt key). High scores for mixed tribes are saved in the Throne Room.

The mixed tribe has the gameplay of the tribe selected second but some of the aesthetics of the tribe selected first. More specifically, the first tribe determines the first four characters of the name, the city style, and the unit style of the mixed tribe; the second tribe determines the last three characters of the name, the terrain style, and the technology (including starting and special technology and units, where applicable) of the mixed tribe.

Floating or Sinking City

An example of both the floating city and the Mixed Tribes Easter eggs

The floating or sinking city Easter egg allows players to float or sink a city by tapping the tiles on the bottom-left and the bottom-right of a city alternatively. Tapping on the bottom-left first causes the city to rise into the sky; tapping on the bottom-right first causes the city to sink into the ground. This change is purely cosmetic and does not prevent the city from being attacked or sieged. The change can be reverted by training a unit from the city or ending the turn.

Sunrise

Capture

The Instagram post hinting at the sunrise Easter egg captioned, "Sometimes it takes up to 15 seconds to reach enlightenment."

The sunrise Easter egg allows players to change the sky to a pinkish-yellow "sunrise." This is done by holding the starry night sky background for 15 seconds, then releasing. This change can be reverted by holding the background for 15 seconds again or relaunching the game.

Multiplayer Friend Codes

Players that attempt to add themselves as a friend will see the following message:

Me, myself & I
Seems like you tried to add yourself as a friend. That might sound like a nice thing to do but it would add an existential layer to the game that we cannot handle at the moment. Please submit a player ID of someone else.

Players that submit empty player ID while attempting to add a friend will see the following message:

Emptiness
The player ID you entered was complete empty! You should not try to make friends with the void, it is a very lonely path.

∑∫ỹriȱŋ Language

The ∑∫ỹriȱŋ language is an Easter egg available to players that own the ∑∫ỹriȱŋ tribe. For those players, the ∑∫ỹriȱŋ language can be found in the settings menu. The language was developed by Zoythrus, the official community manager.

Vengir Skull Party

A Halloween event called the Vengir Skull Party changed the Vengir head to a skull version once the Gate of Power was built. The event lasted from October 29 to November 30, 2020.
