The Clathrus is a building exclusive to the Cymanti tribe that replaces the Customs House. It costs five stars, produces one star per turn for every adjacent Algae in friendly territory, poisons enemy units that move onto it, and can be built on any water tile (shallow water or ocean).
Compared to Customs Houses, it is not as powerful at maximum strength, but Algae are much cheaper than Ports (costing 5 stars, or sometimes 0 stars) and are not limited by having to be on Shallow water. Keep in mind though, the Clathrus itself also cannot be built on land and must occupy a shallow water or ocean tile.
