Philosophy is a tier three technology that unlocks the Mind Bender, Literacy, and the Genius task.
The Mind Bender model
The Mind Bender is a unit that can convert enemy units and heal friendly units. For the Cymanti tribe, Philosophy unlocks the Shaman special unit instead of the Mind Bender.
The Genius task is to research all technology; successful completion of the task grants the Tower of Wisdom monument.
Philosophy was introduced in update 1.7.
Literacy[]
The Literacy icon
Literacy reduces the cost of all technologies by 33%.
In beta, Philosophy unlocked the Library, a building that decreased the costs of technologies. The Library was scrapped and replaced by Literacy before release.
Prior to update 2.0.44, the discount provided by Literacy was 20% instead of 33%.
